This fall, Skill Crafters is offering a 14-week workshop-style therapy group designed to help your child develop social skills, autonomy, and personal identity. In our supportive environment, children will learn vital life skills, including impulsivity management, boundary setting, effective communication, emotional regulation, teamwork, and social problem-solving.
Our program promotes self-care and helps participants uncover their unique strengths, skill enhancement, and challenge any limitations. Through engaging activities and open discussions, children will embark on a journey of self-discovery and growth. Sign up now to secure a spot in this transformative fall adventure!
This group focuses on the following areas (but are not limited to):
Topics Include:
9/4/24: Dive into Skills Crafters and create a list of group rules together. Introduction of group members and team building exercises.
9/11/24: Let's explore the different mental health disorders. This will allow team members to relate to one another, hold empathy, and provide/gain support.
9/18/24: Gain insight into understanding uncomfortable emotions (Emotion Regulation) and expressing emotional needs.
9/25/24: Discover how mindfulness skills can help you navigate challenging feelings of anxiety or depression with ease!
10/2/24: Let's tackle impulsivity and take control of our behavior—I'm in charge of my actions!
10/9/24: Embark on a Self-Identity Exploration (Self-esteem) experience that will elevate confidence and self-awareness to new heights!
10/16/24: Find out how to take care of yourself and have fun at the same time! We'll cover mental, physical, and technology hygiene.
10/23/24: Let's enhance our communication skills to reach our full conversational potential.
10/30/24: Explore the circles of control to understand what we can and can't control. Take charge of your reactions!
11/6/24: We will practice setting and respecting boundaries and advocating for ourselves when necessary. 11/13/24: Let's delve into defining relationships, making, and keeping friendships with plenty of warmth and empathy! 11/20/24: Engage in exciting problem-solving activities that enhance our learned skills!
11/27/24: NO GROUP FOR HOLIDAY BREAK.
12/4/24: Participate in team-building activities where we will practice communication, advocating, impulsivity control, mindfulness, and more!
12/11/24: Group Holiday Party and wrap-up session, we'll look back at all the awesome things we've learned!
*15min Zoom Pre-Admission Interview is required for new clients prior to registration.
