What is The Leadership Institute?

The Leadership Institute is a program custom-designed by Dr. Kimberly Harrison for 8th-grade boys who want to hone skills for becoming leaders at school and in the community. Applications are required, and no more than 2 boys from a school will be selected. 

 

Those who are accepted into the Leadership Institute will be part of an elite group of boys from a variety of schools in the Houston area. Each student selected for the program will bring unique skills and insights and, together, will hone these skills to go to the next level of personal development. Commitment to attend all of the sessions is required. If an application is accepted for consideration, then the students and parents will be invited to attend a 30-minute interview with Dr. Kimberly Harrison.

Dates and Times: Weekly, August 25 - October 27, 2025

The Institute starts with a 3-hour workshop on Saturday, August 23rd, 2025 from 9am to Noon. After that, meetings will be every week (except Labor Day) on Monday evenings from 6:15 to 8:15 from August 25th through October 27th. After October 27th, each participant and their parents will have a 30-minute individual wrap-up session with Dr. Harrison, scheduled at their convenience.
